Josh writes to me,
“My neighbour Kerran is somebody who is immensely popular with the kids in our locality. He is jovial and is adored by the kids because he doesn’t look at them from the point of view of an adult. Kerran and me were once sitting in the balcony and chatting, when a couple of kids dropped by. Kerran asked them whether they’d have biscuits. They replied in the affirmative. Suddenly one of them told the other ” I want to be a private investigator when I grew up “. Intrigued, I asked them the reason for wanting to be a private investigator. The kid replied that he had recently seen a few episodes of Sherlock Holmes, and that he had been immensely impressed by Conan Doyle’s work of fiction. The other kid nodded in approval and added that he would like to be a private investigator too. Meanwhile Kerran came along with the biscuits. They took them along and ran off.”
